Chester Alumnae Give Thanks

Submitted by Abigail McClary-King

On Saturday, Nov. 19 at 9 a.m., Thanksgiving came early for senior residents at the Palmerhouse and Stinson Towers in Chester, PA. Members of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Incorporated served for more than 25 hours along with more than 50 members of other fraternities and sororities of D9 organizations putting smiles on the residents’ faces. The Grab and Go Thanksgiving Dinner was orchestrated by the Chester Inter Greek Council Members (CIGC).

It was a WONDERFUL EVENT!!! The unity displayed among CIGC to serve the senior community, play music, and mix and mingle among the residents made for an exciting and happy occasion. Residents were observed showing their appreciation for the presence of CIGC by talking with council members, listening to music and dancing among members, introducing their visiting family members, and requesting for CIGC to stroll for them.

MANY, MANY, MANY thanks were given by the residents of both Palmer House and Stinson Manor. The impact the Greek Council is having on the Community was seen and felt by all in attendance. More than 90 full Thanksgiving dinners were served to the residents. CIGC did an amazing job and is looking forward to continuing the tradition of serving and honoring the residents of Palmer House and Stinson Manor during the 2023 holiday season.
