Chester Alumnae Kicks Off Sorority Year With Bowling Fundraiser

Submitted by Lori Staples

Chester (PA) Alumnae Chapter kicked off the 2022-2023 sorority year with another successful scholarship fundraising event. Sorors had educational development on their minds when they held a bowling party at Sproul Lanes in Springfield, Delaware County. News of the event was shared by word of mouth and via multiple social media (Facebook, Instagram, Chapter website) platforms.
The fundraising committee led the charge to raise scholarship funds for high school students to assist them in their college pursuits. Laughter, competitive conversations, and team camaraderie filled the air of the bowling party. Sixty-five sorors spent the evening serving and fellowshipping with 102 community guests. Bowling lanes were filled with members of the Divine Nine, chapter members from surrounding Delaware Valley chapters, family, and friends.

Additionally, a local DJ had us moving and grooving while hoping to get a strike. Trophies were given to the top three scoring lanes, and a 50/50 raffle was added to the funds raised that evening. The chapter raised a total of $2,000 toward the chapter’s scholarship goal for the year.
